Description | Spikelets are 3-5.5 mm long and 3-flowered; the lower 2 florets are reduced and sterile, the upper bisexual. Glumes are reduced to a minute, membranous cup remaining on the pedicel after the spikelets fall. Sterile lemmas are scale-like. The fertile lemma is awnless and membranous and the palea is equal to or slightly exceeding the lemma's length. |
