Description | This was a really interesting find. The Tasmanian endemic, Juncus ratkowskyanus (dwarf jointleaf rush) growing on the slopes of Mt Field east, Mt Field National Park. This tiny mat-forming rush can be distinguished from a similar, more common species (Juncus curtisiae) by bearing three anthers rather than six. I've been looking for this plant for about 6-7 years so was delighted to finally find it! |
