Description | Australian Poison-bush (Gastrolobium grandiflorum) along track to Cann River Campsite in the White Mountains National Park (Burra Range), Queensland, Australia. Photographed on 20 April 2016. This species, like many in the same genus contains high levels of fluoroacetate (the active ingredient in the pesticide -1080). It often causes sickness and death in stock that consume it and for that reason is not popular with local farmers. |
