Description | Located this tiny Pygmy Mole Cricket ('basal grasshopper') (body length approx. 8mm) resting on a dead Typha leaf, approx. 0.8m above the ground and near a small pool of water. We are as certain as we can be, of the identification at this point. NOTE: in the accompanying image, the distinct natatory lamellae at the distal end of the hind tibiae. |
