Description | What a lot of interesting things we are seeing just at the moment. Fred found and photographed this most interesting fly with the weirdest of antennae! These do look like one of the flower wasps that are flying around at the moment. I also did wonder if this was a Syrphid or hoverfly but their antennae are very different. Most likely imitating Syrphid flies. 27/01/2012 Bernhard has photographed this in Queensland and has given it a name of Ceriana ornata Click on the photo to see it on black. Photos: Fred |
